About your Doula

My path to doula work began through my own journey into motherhood. As I moved through the stages of matrescence, which began with loss, I began to see how powerful and demanding the transition is from the moment life enters the womb. Once conception takes place, women are often filled with anxieties while undergoing intense physical changes. Birth preparation often felt like an act of faith. In my desperation to feel a sense of control, I studied everything I could find that might ease the transition. Postpartum then brought its own set of physical and emotional challenges, while at the same time transforming me spiritually and reshaping my identity in ways I had never experienced before.

Through that journey, I realized that so many women walk through similar variations of this process, often with little meaningful support. The word doula means “to serve,” and I felt deeply called to serve women as they move through one of life’s most profound transitions: bringing new life into the world.

I went on to complete my Birth Doula certification through DONA International. While my training provided valuable knowledge and practical skills, I felt something essential was missing. There was little recognition of the deep spiritual transformation that accompanies pregnancy and birth. For many women of faith, motherhood is not only physical and emotional, it is deeply spiritual. From the moment we open ourselves to bringing life into the world, there is a profound awareness that God is at work.

I believe that conception marks the beginning of a sacred season in a woman’s life, one that often deepens her connection to God and her family. Many women experience this through heightened intuition, vivid dreams, and the natural rewiring of the mind and heart for motherhood. Historically, this spiritual dimension of birth was honored and nurtured. Women were surrounded by other women during labor, often those who carried spiritual wisdom or religious titles to support them physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Recognizing this missing piece in modern maternity care, I felt called to help restore it. My desire is to support women who long to bring their faith fully into the birth space, to create an environment where prayer, trust in God, and spiritual grounding are welcomed alongside practical support and education. I hope to help women feel held, supported, and aware of God’s presence as they welcome new life into the world.
