“Truth be told, before Nicole I had no idea what a doula was or the tremendous impact a doula could have in the delivery room. I didn’t have much of a birth plan but I did have one goal: to have a successful VBAC. After my epidural my progress all but halted and they told me that if I didn’t dilate any further in the next couple of hours I would have to go for a C-section. Nicole pulled out all the stops and in those two hours got me moving and utilized techniques to progress my dilation. After the two hours were up the doctor was surprised to find that I was fully dilated and ready to push! The VBAC was a total success, but if Nicole hadn’t been there I absolutely would have had another C-section. She’s truly the best.”
